Description
The Utah STEM Action Center administers this grant through the Utah Department of Cultural and Community Engagement to address gaps in computing opportunities for Utah students and educators. The FY2027–28 Targeted Computing Partnerships Drone Grant Program supports building and repairing drones, preparing for drone soccer and other competitions, and developing applied piloting, photography, and related skills. Activities should align with student engagement strategies and Utah’s Computer Science Education Master Plan.
The program encourages cross-disciplinary work that integrates coding and drone programming into problem solving. It prioritizes access for all students and activities outside the classroom, while allowing classroom components when the primary focus remains on out-of-school time. Applicants may create new computing activities or enhance existing programs to build a computing culture and address identified gaps.
