Description
The Stephen D. Tanner Children’s Enrichment Fund is administered by Your Community Foundation of North Central West Virginia (YCF). It supports educational opportunities and enrichment programs for underprivileged children in Harrison, Marion, Monongalia, Preston, and Taylor Counties. Traditional public elementary schools and nonprofit organizations offering children’s enrichment in under-resourced communities are the program’s intended applicants.
The fund encourages project-based learning, cross-curriculum initiatives, and projects that engage students’ parents. Preference is given to Title I schools. Created by Rita Tanner in memory of her late husband, the fund is an endowment whose net earnings support educational opportunities for children from low-income families and help cover enrichment program costs.
