This yearlong, part-time, virtual fellowship provides one early- or mid-career faculty member with the opportunity to work closely with the editorial and publishing teams at Family Medicine, the official journal of the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM). The fellow receives coaching and hands-on experience in writing, reviewing, and editing scientific papers, gains insight into the editorial review process, and develops skills in manuscript submission procedures and scientific publishing ethics. Participants engage in regular mentoring calls, assist with content selection, serve as assistant editors, and improve their medical writing and editing skills through direct involvement in journal operations.
