The STFM Medical Editing Fellowship provides a unique, yearlong, part-time virtual experience for one early- or mid-career faculty member each year to work closely with the editorial and publishing teams at Family Medicine, the scientific journal of the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM). The fellowship aims to develop participants' skills in scientific writing, peer review, and editorial decision-making, offering individualized coaching and immersive, hands-on experience under the mentorship of experienced editors.
Fellows participate in regular editorial team meetings, receive mentoring from the editor-in-chief, and are involved in all aspects of the journal’s editorial and peer review process. The fellowship is designed to enhance the fellow’s expertise in manuscript evaluation, journal operations, and medical writing.
