The Society of Trauma Nurses (STN) funds research and evidence-based practice projects as part of its mission to improve the care and treatment of trauma patients. The program supports nurses who continually evaluate trauma nursing practice and seek to change it based on evidence. Projects must address patients injured through a traumatic mechanism or their family members, with meaningful involvement from nurse clinicians.
STN seeks good science with direct, meaningful benefits for trauma patients and families, an emphasis on health equity, and findings that are replicable or transferable to other organizations and practitioners. Community-based participatory research addressing health inequities or improving trauma care for oppressed populations is strongly encouraged and receives priority when other qualifications are equal.
