The Horticultural Research Institute (HRI) Strategic Grantmaking program supports research projects that address significant challenges and opportunities within the green industry, including the nursery, greenhouse, retail, and landscape sectors. Since 1962, HRI has invested in research focused on propagation, production, distribution, marketing, and sale of plant material. The program emphasizes projects that provide quantifiable plant benefits, consumer insights, innovative solutions, and practical, actionable outcomes for businesses. Research must clearly demonstrate value and offer a tangible return on investment for the horticultural industry.
