Description
The Strategic Policy Grants Program (SPGP) is an annual, open, and competitive funding opportunity provided by the Australia Department of Defence. Its primary aim is to support independent, innovative policy research and activities that provide external perspectives on Australia’s defence and strategic policy decision-making. The program seeks to deepen public debate, inform policy development, strengthen international and domestic partnerships, and broaden participation in strategic policy discussions. Supported activities include research papers, articles, reports, conferences, workshops, seminars, and scenario exercises.
