Key Information: Consortia need at least three subprojects, three organisations and three research fields, with funding through Finnish research sites.
The Strategic Research Council (SRC), an independent body within the Research Council of Finland, funds long-term, solution-oriented research addressing major societal challenges. RESOURCES seeks knowledge and concrete solutions that strengthen Finland’s and the EU’s material self-sufficiency, critical value chains and future resource availability within planetary boundaries and with global responsibility.
Research must focus on resource sectors important to Finland, including sustainable material cycles, production chains, material flows and data as a strategic resource. Projects may connect technological solutions with consumption, operating practices and the social, cultural and ethical dimensions of resource use. Other intangible resources qualify only within a broader strategic-materials or data context. Interdisciplinary research and cooperation with businesses, public bodies and other stakeholders are central. The cross-cutting priority, Data as power, must inform research and interaction from planning onward.
