    Description

The Alaska Humanities Forum’s Strengthening Communities Grants Program invests in Alaskans’ stories, ideas, and community-building efforts to spark connection and deepen understanding of others, ourselves, and our communities. The Forum is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that shares and preserves stories of Alaska’s people and places and explores what it means to be Alaskan.

Stories Grants support a more inclusive narrative of Alaska’s past and present by amplifying stories underrecognized or excluded from public discourse. Dialogues Grants support the design and facilitation of public programming that brings people together through conversation to learn from one another about topics important to Alaskans. Kindling Conversation stipends support short, thoughtful community conversations that connect people across difference and foster inclusive conversational spaces.
