Description
The Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry, through its Apprenticeship and Training Office (ATO), supports local and regional navigator programs that help employers and partners develop, register, and expand Registered Apprenticeships and Pre-Apprenticeships. The initiative seeks stronger business engagement, sustained partnerships, and talent pipelines aligned with Pennsylvania’s Ten-Year Strategic Plan for Economic Development and WIOA Combined State Plan.
The funded project must develop two cohorts and train at least 40 Navigators to journeyworker status. Work includes uniform technical assistance for consortiums, employers, intermediaries, and training providers; convening partners around workforce needs; developing tools to attract and retain apprentices; and researching and sharing national and statewide best practices. Applicants must provide a detailed implementation roadmap and plans for long-term sustainability.
