Description

This European Commission call supports research and innovation actions (RIA) aimed at strengthening plant health by addressing emerging plant pest risks in agriculture and forestry across the EU and Associated Countries. Projects are expected to improve understanding of pest emergence drivers, such as climate change, ecosystem degradation, and globalisation, and to develop and validate cost-effective, environmentally friendly measures for pest management. The grant also seeks robust scientific support for policy and decision-making, rapid detection and control tools, socio-economic and environmental impact assessments, and the identification of pest-resistant or tolerant plant traits. A multi-actor approach, international cooperation, and integration of diverse farming systems (including organic and conventional) are strongly encouraged, in alignment with EU sustainability objectives.
