Description
The STSA Resident Research Fellowship Award, administered by the Thoracic Surgery Foundation for Research and Education (TSFRE), provides substantial funding for general surgery or cardiothoracic surgery residents who have not yet completed their training. The award aims to foster the development of future surgeon-scientists by enabling recipients to participate in a dedicated research fellowship within a cardiothoracic surgical clinical or laboratory research program. Emphasis is placed on the applicant’s potential, the quality of the proposed educational and research experience, and the training environment.
The fellowship is intended to provide salary and/or direct experimental support to surgical trainees seeking to acquire investigational skills relevant to the advancement of cardiothoracic surgery. Indirect, fringe, or unrelated expenditures are not covered.
