Key Information: Students must help plan and implement the project; each student group may apply for only one project.
The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) offers competitive Student AODA Mini-Grants to support student-designed education, prevention, and intervention projects in schools across Wisconsin. Projects may address alcohol and other drug abuse (AODA), commercial tobacco use and vaping, violence, bullying, suicide, alcohol traffic safety, and other related youth risk behaviors.
The program is part of DPI’s effort to involve young people in comprehensive school health initiatives. Students must have an active role in planning and carrying out activities, rather than only participating in activities designed for them. DPI also considers a project’s educational value and the geographic distribution of funding across the state.
