The program is designed to foster creative activity and scholarly engagement in the arts, regardless of a student's major, and encourages projects that benefit the campus arts community. Both individuals and groups may apply, with priority given to proposals that involve artistic practice, scholarship, or professionalization (such as conference travel or workshop participation). All applications must be accompanied by a faculty sponsor's letter of support.
