Description
The SNAME Student Grant Program provides small, competitive grants to student sections of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME). The program is designed to fund activities and events that support the professional development of students entering the marine industry. Typical funded activities include professional development workshops, guest speakers, competitions, research and development projects (excluding labor costs), field trips, conference travel, outreach initiatives, software licenses, and costs related to student papers. The program prioritizes impactful projects that offer unique experiences not otherwise accessible to students, rather than distributing small grants to many recipients.
Funds are managed by the Student Section Advisor or Treasurer, and the program is administered by SNAME Headquarters in consultation with relevant committees.
