Description
The SFPE Foundation administers Student Research Grants to provide educational and research opportunities for the next generation of fire protection engineers. The program supports innovative baccalaureate- and graduate-level research and showcases students’ contributions to advancing fire protection engineering. It emphasizes scientific merit, innovation, and unresolved problems relevant to practicing fire engineers.
Priority goes to projects aligned with the Foundation’s Grand Challenges Initiative (GCI): Energy & Infrastructure; Resilience & Sustainability; Climate Change; and Digitalization, Artificial Intelligence, & Cybersecurity. Projects outside these areas may apply under the Open category. The program also encourages sharing findings with researchers and practitioners through publications, presentations, and other dissemination activities.
