The Student STEM Enrichment Program (SSEP) supports creative, hands-on STEM activities for K-12 students in North Carolina, with a focus on out-of-school-time programming. The program aims to foster students’ competence and enthusiasm in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, spark interest in STEM careers, and provide opportunities especially for students from underrepresented or underserved backgrounds. Projects must align with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study, provide structured and sustained experiences, and include strong evaluation and sustainability plans. Partnerships with scientific, educational, and community organizations are encouraged.
