Description
The Burroughs Wellcome Fund’s Student STEM Enrichment Program supports creative, inquiry-based activities that let North Carolina K–12 students practice STEM and explore the scientific process. Projects should build students’ competence and enthusiasm in STEM and interest in research or other STEM-related careers. The program values opportunities for students who are underserved or traditionally underrepresented in STEM.
Activities take place outside the usual school day and must align with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study for science and mathematics at participants’ grade levels. The fund emphasizes well-structured programs with trained staff and continued contact with students.
