--- ## Description The Study Abroad Scholarship provides $1,000 in financial support to students who are planning to participate in, currently participating in, or have recently completed a study abroad program. The scholarship aims to make international educational experiences more accessible, encouraging global learning and broadening students' perspectives. Applicants must describe their planned or recent study abroad program and explain its relevance to their academic, personal, or career goals. The program is administered independently by Honor Society® and is open to all eligible students, regardless of membership status. --- ## Due Dates - January 28, 2026: Full application deadline for the Study Abroad Scholarship --- ## Funding Amount - Award amount: $1,000 per recipient - The scholarship is a one-time, non-renewable award. - Number of awards per cycle is not fixed and depends on the number and quality of applications. --- ## Eligibility - Open to all students; no restrictions based on field, institution, or career stage. - Applicants must be: - Enrolled in a study abroad program taking place within the next 9 months, **or** - Currently participating in a study abroad program, **or** - Have completed a study abroad program within the last 3 months. - Recipients must provide documentation confirming participation (e.g., enrollment verification or confirmation from the program provider). - Applicants must be willing to provide a video and/or written testimonial if selected. - No purchase or Honor Society® membership is required to apply or win. - Not open to residents of jurisdictions where such programs are prohibited by law. --- ## Application Process - Complete the online application via the [Honor Society® Study Abroad Scholarship page](https://www.honorsociety.org/study-abroad-scholarship). - Required materials: - Description of the planned study abroad program, including program dates. - Statement (up to 500 words) on the relevance of the program to your major, life, or goals. - Current GPA. - Unofficial transcript (official transcript required before funds are disbursed to recipients). - Selection is based on the relevance of the program and academic achievement; a rubric is used to score applicants. - In the event of a tie, the winner will be selected at random from tied applicants. - Applicants can expect to hear back within 3 weeks of the award's selection; public announcements are made within 6 weeks. - Applications are considered for up to 3 months after submission.
