--- ## Description The Study Abroad Scholarship provides $1,000 in financial support to students who are planning to participate in, are currently engaged in, or have recently completed (within the last 3 months) a study abroad program. The scholarship aims to foster global learning, academic achievement, and personal development by assisting with program-related expenses. Applicants are evaluated on the relevance of their study abroad experience to their academic and personal goals, as well as their academic record. The program is open to all eligible individuals and is administered independently by Honor Society®. --- ## Due Dates - March 28, 2026: Application deadline (Study Abroad Scholarship) --- ## Funding Amount - Award amount: $1,000 per recipient - Number of recipients: Not specified; varies by cycle - Disbursement: One-time award per application cycle - Funds are released upon confirmation of enrollment in the study abroad program --- ## Eligibility - Open to all students (no purchase or Honor Society® membership required) - Applicants must be: - Enrolled in a study abroad program taking place within the next 9 months, - Currently participating in a study abroad program, or - Have completed a study abroad program within the last 3 months - Must provide documentation confirming participation (enrollment verification or similar) - Willingness to provide a video and/or written testimonial if selected - Must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations - Not open to residents of jurisdictions where such programs are prohibited --- ## Application Process 1. Complete the online application form, including: - Description of the planned study abroad program and its dates - Up to 500 words on the relevance of the program to your major, life, or goals - Current GPA - Contact and school information - Attach an unofficial transcript (official transcript required before disbursement if selected) 3. Submit the application via the [scholarship page](https://www.honorsociety.org/study-abroad-scholarship-0). 4. Applications are reviewed and scored by a scholarship committee according to a rubric; if there is a tie, the winner is selected at random from tied applicants. 5. Recipients are notified within 3 weeks of selection; public announcement within 6 weeks. 6.
