The Study Group Activities Fund provides financial support for events and programs organized by American Musicological Society (AMS) study groups. The fund covers up to $500 or 50% of the total cost of a project or event, whichever is less. Eligible expenses include speaker fees, venue costs, travel, lodging, supplies, and direct program costs such as A/V, equipment, and catering. The intent is to supplement—not fully fund—study group activities, with the remainder of costs to be covered by other sources. Awards are granted semi-annually, and each study group may receive funding only once in a twelve-month period. All awarded funds must be used within 12 months for the proposed activities.
