    Description

Region 2 Arts Council’s Sudden Opportunity Grant provides quick support for creative people and small organizations facing short-term opportunities or urgent project needs. It funds essential travel, training, transportation, and project-related supplies or services when a small, timely expense can help sustain artistic or culture-bearing work. Awards are distributed first-come, first-served to eligible applicants until quarterly funds are exhausted.

Supported opportunities include workshops, residencies, conferences, mentorships, and demonstrations, including travel and registration costs. The grant can also support last-minute framing before an exhibition, repairs to cameras or sewing machines used in creative activities, marketing and printing for performances or exhibitions, and consumable supplies for an upcoming vendor market. The importance, urgency, and timing of the request are central considerations.
