Description
The Suffolk Sports Fund supports charitable, voluntary and community groups working to increase participation in sport across Suffolk. Suffolk Community Foundation delivers the fund in partnership with Suffolk County Council, Suffolk’s Borough and District Councils, and businesses. The programme recognises sport and physical activity as part of a healthy lifestyle and aims to improve local people’s lives through better access to grassroots sporting opportunities.
Its priority is to reach people excluded through disadvantage, particularly those who struggle to access mainstream sports because of disability, isolation or other barriers. Funding is directed towards projects that create opportunities for increased participation, rather than simply maintaining existing activity. Projects must benefit people living or working in Suffolk.
