    Description

The Giovanni Armenise-Harvard Foundation and its partners offer a two-month Summer Fellowship for students at Italian universities to gain hands-on basic biomedical research experience at Harvard Medical School (HMS) or its affiliated hospitals. The program encourages student mobility, exposure to the American research system, and engagement with diverse scientific environments before students return to their home institutions to complete their degrees. Clinical research and clinical activities are not supported.

Once placed in a laboratory, Fellows receive guidance from a lab supervisor or postdoctoral mentor. Alongside their research, they attend weekly Career Development Seminars with scientists, faculty, and industry professionals based in Boston and Europe to explore educational and career pathways. The program operates under the patronage of the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research.
