Description
The Summer Intern Scholarship is designed to introduce first and second year medical students enrolled in North American medical schools to the field of cardiothoracic surgery. Recipients participate in an eight-week summer internship within the department of an American Association for Thoracic Surgery (AATS) member, gaining both laboratory and clinical exposure. The program supports living expenses and seeks to foster early interest in the specialty. Select students may also receive the Scanlan Family Summer Intern Scholarship, which includes additional support and special recognition.
