The Summer Program in Social Science, hosted by the School of Social Science at the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS), is an international and interdisciplinary initiative designed to bring together approximately twenty early-career scholars from Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America. The program's mission is to enrich the social sciences by fostering dialogue across intellectual traditions and disciplines, and by building a robust international network of social scientists from the global South. Scholars participate in a series of workshops held in Princeton, Johannesburg, and Bogotá, engaging in advanced research discussions, sharing experiences, and exploring both local and global contexts of knowledge production and circulation. The program emphasizes collaborative learning, scholarly exchange, and is led by distinguished faculty from partnering institutions.
