Description
Northwestern University Libraries annually awards a Summer Undergraduate Research Grant to one Northwestern undergraduate for an independent academic or creative project in Native American and Indigenous research. The project must use library collections and expertise, with research conducted under a faculty advisor’s supervision and a librarian mentor’s guidance. The award supports living expenses so the recipient can devote eight weeks to full-time independent work.
Applications are submitted through Northwestern’s Summer Undergraduate Research Grant program, administered by the Office of Undergraduate Research. Projects must involve new, original research organized around an answerable question and a feasible methodology. Academic and creative outcomes are supported, but the student must demonstrate ownership of the project and a significant component of independent problem-solving.
