Description
The Biochemical Society’s Summer Vacation Studentships support undergraduates in biochemistry, molecular bioscience, and related subjects during the middle summers of their degrees. The scheme offers three strands: independently organised research projects, online programming skills development, and a remote publishing and engagement placement. These opportunities develop practical and transferable skills relevant to future studies and careers.
Research studentships support four- to six-week projects involving laboratory work, computational biology, bioinformatics, or a combination. Programming studentships provide self-paced training in R and Python without requiring previous coding experience. Publishing and engagement students work with the Society’s Content and Communities Manager on The Biochemist, contributing to commissioning and exploring ways to engage students, scientists, educators, and wider audiences with molecular bioscience.
