Description
The Biochemical Society's Summer Vacation Studentships support undergraduate students in biochemistry, molecular bioscience, and related disciplines by funding 6-week summer placements. The scheme offers three main studentship types: research (laboratory or computational), programming skills (remote, focused on R and Python), and publishing and engagement (remote, working with the Society’s magazine, The Biochemist). These placements are designed to provide hands-on experience, foster skill development, and expose students to a range of career paths in science, communication, and outreach.
Studentships are open to both UK and international students (with some location restrictions for specific studentships), and include a stipend to cover living costs. Recipients also receive a one-year undergraduate membership to the Biochemical Society, granting access to additional training and networking opportunities.
