    Description

EuroHPC Joint Undertaking funds this Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Action to scale up superconducting quantum computing and strengthen Europe’s industrial capacity. The action targets a modular, user-adjustable quantum computer aiming at 1,000 physical qubits, using chiplet technology and integrating quantum hardware, cryogenic infrastructure, control electronics, and software.

Proposals must tackle error correction and fault tolerance alongside cryogenic and interconnect engineering. The work should demonstrate at least two industrial use cases, benchmarked against best-in-class classical methods to establish quantum advantage or clear progress towards it. Expected results include cloud access, HPC integration, standardised software and interfaces, interoperable chiplets, and stronger independent European supply chains. Activities are expected to progress from laboratory-validated technology at TRL 4 to an operational-environment system prototype at TRL 7.
