Description
The Texas Historical Commission (THC) offers supplemental funding through its Texas Historic Courthouse Preservation Program (THCPP) to counties with construction projects already underway. It helps recipients address unforeseen conditions that require additional work to preserve a historic county courthouse. A request may also explain an increased cost, though the supplemental application is considered only for an increased scope of work.
Unlike THCPP’s regular competitive grant cycles, supplemental requests are considered by the full Commission at quarterly meetings. Approval is not guaranteed. The Commission weighs available funding, whether the work was unforeseen, its significance to preserving the courthouse, and whether the recipient has reached the program’s $10 million cap.
