The Support for Artists' Residencies program at the University of Wisconsin–Madison provides funding to faculty artists in the School of Education and the College of Letters & Science to undertake significant, career-enhancing residencies. These residencies are intended to foster professional development, expand creative networks, and increase the visibility and impact of faculty artists and performers by supporting time spent at prestigious institutions or programs.
The program is administered by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research (OVCR), in partnership with the School of Education and the College of Letters & Science. Funding is specifically targeted at residencies that are of considerable prestige and duration, allowing artists to build relationships with peers, curators, and critics, and to gain national or international recognition for their work.
