Description
The Fritz Thyssen Foundation supports defined research projects in three promotion areas: History, Language & Culture; State, Economy and Society; and Medicine and the Natural Sciences. Interdisciplinary projects are welcome. Support covers research personnel, materials and project-related travel, enabling scholars to carry out research and publish findings for use by other scholars.
The humanities and social sciences portfolio spans philosophy, theology and religious studies, history, archaeology, aesthetics, literary and linguistic studies, economics, law, political science and sociology. Medical funding helps researchers at an early stage of independent academic careers develop their scientific profiles. It prioritizes molecular biological processes causally linked to disease development and progression, and novel therapeutic approaches targeting those processes.
