Description
The National Lottery Community Fund’s Supporting Change – Carers programme funds work in Scotland that tackles unfair and avoidable differences in unpaid carers’ health. It seeks lasting systems change addressing the root causes of long-term problems, rather than short-term support. Unpaid carers include adults and children looking after relatives, friends or neighbours because of disability, illness, a mental health condition or addiction. The programme is particularly interested in reaching people who do not identify themselves as carers.
Projects can pursue change locally or nationally, including changes to rules, working practices, decision-making and how organisations collaborate. Development funding can support research, consultations and partnership building. Service delivery projects, such as advocacy, peer support and welfare rights advice, are not funded.
