The Supporting Undergraduate Research Experiences (SURE) Awards, administered by New Mexico EPSCoR, provide small-scale grants to faculty at New Mexico’s academic institutions. The program aims to increase access to meaningful undergraduate research experiences and to strengthen the state's research ecosystem. Funding supports activities such as engaging student researchers, purchasing research supplies, facilitating student conference travel, and providing summer salary or course buyout for faculty. Projects must align with NSF’s Research Focus Areas or New Mexico’s Science and Technology Plan, and are intended to foster innovative approaches that build institutional research capacity and workforce pathways.
