Description
This opportunity, under Horizon Europe, funds the development and demonstration of innovative solutions for achieving thermal comfort in buildings while reducing life cycle greenhouse gas emissions, energy use, and costs. Projects must be inspired by vernacular knowledge, nature-based solutions, bioclimatic design, or frugal innovation. At least two solutions must be developed and demonstrated in different climatic zones across Member States or Associated Countries, including at least one cultural heritage building.
Solutions should prioritize affordability, accessibility for vulnerable groups, and aesthetic appeal. Projects are also expected to identify and address barriers to implementation and scalability, use participatory and transdisciplinary approaches, and engage with the New European Bauhaus hub for sharing results and impact assessment.
