Description
The National Lottery Community Fund runs this programme to increase diversity in green careers by supporting young people from ethnically minoritised communities in Cardiff. It funds both the development of project ideas and their delivery, helping young people build confidence, learn social and technical skills, and gain work experience or placements that could lead to longer-term opportunities.
Green careers are defined as work that reduces carbon emissions, restores nature, or helps people adapt to a changing climate. The programme’s scope extends beyond specialist environmental roles: examples include an administrative assistant for an environmental consultant, a cook at a zero-waste café, and a trainee engineer at a renewable energy company.
