Description
The SWEF Enterprise Fund, run by Dorset Community Foundation, supports young people who cannot afford the investment needed to launch or develop a new business. It funds costs that can create a transformational change or a significant step forward, rather than routine personal expenses. Separate Start-up and Business Grants support businesses at different stages, and awards do not need to be repaid.
Supported investment includes profit-increasing equipment, prototypes and product development, websites or booking systems, and training. Start-up Grants can also cover materials or stock. Applicants must explain what they intend to purchase and how it will advance the business. Business plans are not required, but applicants must demonstrate practical progress, relevant skills and a credible route towards making the business their sole work focus.
