The Robert and Patricia Switzer Foundation’s Professional Development Fund provides direct support for Switzer Fellowship alumni to build skills and professional networks. The program addresses the difficulty environmental leaders can face in financing professional development. It supports training, conferences, professional meetings, and other activities that clearly advance a fellow’s career goals and environmental leadership.
Past grants have supported conference attendance for networking or presenting work, training in nonprofit management, communication, negotiation, and facilitation, and leadership development programs for executive directors and other senior staff. The foundation aims to support fellows who would otherwise be unable to finance their participation. It also occasionally funds leadership development programs serving multiple Switzer Fellows at its discretion.
