Description
The European Research Council (ERC) Synergy Grant supports small groups of two to four Principal Investigators (PIs) and their teams to collaboratively address bold, complex scientific challenges that cannot be addressed by individual researchers or single teams alone. The program is open to all research fields and career stages, encouraging interdisciplinary, high-risk/high-gain projects with the potential for transformative impact. Scientific excellence and the unique synergetic effect of the team are the sole criteria for selection. The grant is highly competitive and designed to foster substantial advances at the frontiers of knowledge, often involving cross-fertilization of disciplines or the development of new methods and approaches.
