Description
The European Research Council (ERC) Synergy Grant is designed to enable small groups of two to four Principal Investigators (PIs) and their teams to jointly address bold, complex research questions that cannot be tackled by a single PI. The grant promotes interdisciplinary collaboration, encouraging the combination of complementary skills, knowledge, and resources to achieve transformative scientific advances. Proposals are evaluated solely on scientific excellence, with a particular emphasis on the added value and synergetic effect of the group. The grant is open to any field of research and welcomes applications from teams at any career stage, from any country, provided the research is conducted at host institutions in EU Member States or Associated Countries (with one PI per group allowed to be based outside these regions).
