The Systematics Association supports the organisation of meetings pertinent to its aims of promoting systematics and taxonomy across the life sciences. Taxon-focused meetings are especially encouraged, although other meetings relating to systematics and taxonomy are also considered. The programme favours events intended to produce a book in the Systematics Association Special Volume series, drawing on the Association’s experience in producing publications that have become landmarks in their fields.
Inclusive participation is also a priority. The Association seeks to support meetings whose organisers make an effort to promote diversity and gender balance among speakers. It gives priority to proposals that improve access for participants who would otherwise be unable to attend, particularly participants from developing countries.
