Description
American Councils for International Education administers the Taiwan Intensive Summer and Semester Language Programs in partnership with Tamkang University in New Taipei City. Offered in summer, fall, spring, and academic year terms, the programs are designed for Mandarin learners seeking rapid gains in proficiency and cultural understanding.
Participants receive 18–20 hours of small-group and one-on-one instruction each week. Cultural workshops, excursions, local conversation partners, and a weekend with a host family extend language practice beyond the classroom. Participants are expected to speak Mandarin throughout the program and spend an average of four hours on coursework each night.
