The prize is open to those working across the entire research value chain, from basic to clinical research, and values not only scientific discovery but also contributions to science communication and the translation of research into societal or patient benefit. The Foundation strongly encourages nominations from diverse backgrounds and seeks to highlight multiple pathways to a successful scientific career. Five prizes are awarded each year.
