The Targeted Federal Match is the first solicitation under New Mexico’s Research, Development & Deployment (RD&D) Fund, administered by the Economic Development Department’s Technology and Innovation Office (TIO). It provides grants to match or leverage funding from a defined set of priority federal programs for projects in New Mexico.
The program aligns federal investment with the state’s technology priorities: advanced computing, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and quantum computing; advanced energy; aerospace and defense systems; and bioscience. TIO encourages industry-led applications with university or national laboratory partners where appropriate, while also allowing public research institutions to lead. Its review considers commercialization and in-state economic impact.
