Description
The Utah Division of Arts & Museums’ Arts Education Program offers Teacher-Initiated Project grants for individual study with a professional artist. Applicants choose an artist and an art form they want to explore, whether or not they have prior experience in it. The artist works one-on-one with the educator to develop their knowledge and skills.
The program supports personal artistic growth rather than training in how to teach students. The guidelines identify visual art, music, theatre, dance, storytelling, media arts, folk arts and creative writing as possible disciplines. Priority is given to educators with no or limited training in an artistic discipline.
