The Center for Craft’s Teaching Artist Cohort supports mid-career craft artists who teach, combining unrestricted grants with a six-month experience of programming, mentorship, and peer-to-peer learning. The program helps artists sustain a generative craft practice, continue their work as educators, and enrich the communities they engage.
The cohort brings together artists with varied career aspirations, geographies, materials, and teaching approaches. It is geared toward artists whose practice includes community engagement, adjunct teaching, workshops, visiting artist roles, museum education, community college instruction, or lecturing. Virtual workshops and convenings, planned and facilitated by the Center’s Craft Education Fellow, strengthen connections among artists and deepen community vitality locally and nationally.
