Description
The Teaching Artist Grant is funded by the McKnight Foundation and administered by the Central Minnesota Arts Board (CMAB). It supports rostered teaching artists conducting arts learning activities in community and classroom settings. Each proposal combines learning with a core group, a community component that invites and informs people about participation, and a designated staff member who supports the activities.
The program aims to help artists connect with new audiences, build relationships, and receive income for instructional work. It also seeks accessible and inclusive learning opportunities in which all students can meaningfully engage. Regional residents should gain arts skills, techniques, awareness, or appreciation across artistic disciplines, while host schools and organizations benefit from the learning activities.
