Description
The Teaching Fund is a donor fund administered by the American Philosophical Association (APA) to support philosophy teaching initiatives and programs, including the APA-AAPT Teaching Hubs. It strongly favors seed money for new, innovative pilot projects over continuing support for established activities. The emphasis is on short-term support rather than long-term, repeat, or sustaining funding.
The APA favors projects that can serve as models for other institutions and whose recipients are willing to share information about their work. Projects with local support already secured are preferred. Requests for ongoing initiatives should demonstrate the potential to obtain continuing support elsewhere. Lectures or lecture series at a single college or university are not ordinarily funded unless their proposed impact convincingly extends beyond the host institution.
