Description
The California State Water Resources Control Board’s Office of Sustainable Water Solutions administers the Technical Assistance (TA) Funding Program. It helps communities develop, fund, and implement eligible drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, and groundwater projects. Assistance can include capital-project coordination, funding applications, engineering and environmental analysis, legal assistance, operations and maintenance support, leak detection, financial analysis, and board or operator training. The Board assigns eligible requests to TA providers when capacity is available.
The program focuses on small disadvantaged communities and sustainable solutions to water-system problems. For drinking water and wastewater requests, it generally prioritizes systems that are out of compliance or cannot deliver sufficient water, service extensions for communities affected by drought or contamination, consolidation, systems with fewer than 200 connections, and relatively low-cost needs that would move an otherwise complete funding application forward.
