Description
Funded by the Illinois Secretary of State and Illinois State Library, Technology Grants support statewide and regional solutions that make library services more efficient and consistent across Illinois communities. The program aims to strengthen infrastructure for sharing resources and discovering information, expand libraries’ ability to serve people throughout Illinois, and improve efficiency and accountability through statewide administration.
Supported work includes connections to the statewide videoconferencing network, cataloging support for shared virtual library catalogs, and the statewide courier service that moves materials between libraries. Awarded projects include the Illinois Library Delivery Service and the Cataloging Maintenance Center, which supports consistent bibliographic records and educational opportunities for library staff.
