Description
The TCGC Grant Cycle is run by Gaston Community Foundation through Teens Changing Gaston County, a student-run philanthropy program. It supports young people applying on behalf of nonprofit organizations to carry out projects with a positive impact on Gaston County. Projects should be beneficial, creative, realistic, and achievable, with teens gaining skills and knowledge through planning and implementation.
Funding focuses on materials and other costs directly benefiting community projects, rather than fundraising events, individual compensation, or nonprofit overhead. The broader TCGC program introduces students to local nonprofit organizations, community leaders, grant deliberation, and grant making. Its goal is to empower young people to recognize community needs and respond through service and philanthropy.
