Description
This Fulbright Scholar teaching award supports direct TEFL instruction and teacher training in Jordan, with support from the Jordanian-American Commission for Educational Exchange. Scholars teach undergraduate or graduate courses, train senior English students and junior teachers or faculty, and deliver workshops strengthening assessment or research capacity. Activities also include student mentoring, curriculum and program development, teaching resources, testing, and evaluation. Final assignments are agreed with the host institution, with teaching generally involving two to three courses per semester.
The program promotes international understanding and relationships between people and institutions in the United States and Jordan. Its interests include English-language pedagogy, technology-enhanced learning, assessment, second language acquisition, language analysis, translation, and intercultural communication. Approximately two scholars receive awards.
