Description
The South Carolina Arts Commission supports arts education projects for preschool (3K–4K) and K–12 students during the school term, including activities beyond the school day. Arts organizations and other community-based providers can use the grant to meet students’ educational, developmental, and social needs through substantial instruction or experiences in visual, performing, media, design, folk and traditional arts, or creative writing.
Projects should expand access while complementing, augmenting, or advancing standards-based arts instruction or arts integration aligned with school curricula. Activities may include workshops, artist residencies, performances, exhibitions, program planning, and professional learning. The commission prioritizes partnerships pursuing educational goals through the arts and projects serving students in rural, high-poverty, or Opportunity Initiative communities.
