Description
The Terra Foundation for American Art’s Initiative Grants support emerging needs in the American art field, giving evolving ideas and programs room to develop while deepening relationships and generating combined impact. The invitation-only program complements the foundation’s core grant programs through an adaptive approach that can address immediate needs and sustained investments outside annual grantmaking cycles.
Support can build organizational capacity over time or enable projects that require testing, refinement, and flexibility in when and where work takes place. The foundation seeks work that contributes to a thriving field beyond exhibitions, collections, and convenings; helps organizations navigate critical moments through accelerated investment; and fosters conversations about how American art and artists address shared concerns in a global world.
